Plot[]
Season One[]
Dakota City was any other city plagued by gang violence, until the Big Bang; the two biggest gangs of Dakota were in the middle of a shootout when police arrived and released a tear gas that, unbeknownst to them, is laced with an experimental mutagen known as "Quantum Juice", that would give all those exposed to it metahuman abilities, and these metas would soon be referred to as "Bang Babies". Teenage Virgil Hawkins is one of these Bang Babies, and discovers his new metahuman ability to generate, control and manipulate electromagnetism. Dubbing the name "Static", Virgil is mentored by Jefferson Pierce, AKA veteran superhero Black Lightning, to control his newfound powers and use them for good, and to stop the evil Bang Babies from harming the city Virgil loves. But when an old foe of Black Lightning's, the Electrocutioner, comes to town to enact his revenge on the superhero, Virgil's new powers are put to the ultimate test as he must save his city.

- The Big Bang - Virgil Hawkins, your average American teenager, finds himself with metahuman abilities; two of the biggest gangs in Dakota City were in the middle of a shootout, in which Virgil arrived to enact revenge on a gang member who was bullying him. During the shootout, the police arrived and released a tear gas, unaware that the tear gas was laced with an experimental mutagen known as "Quantum Juice". Everyone exposed to the Q-Juice, including Virgil, are given metahuman abilities after their exposure to the Q-Juice. Virgil's metahuman ability? To generate, control, and manipulate electromagnetism.
- Static - After discovering his new metahuman ability, Virgil goes to his best friend Richie Foley, who is one of the smartest kids in Dakota. After testing out some of his abilities, Richie suggests he becomes a superhero of sorts, noting that "a majority of kids with new powers will use them against the greater good". Virgil agrees. The two create a superhero costume for Virgil, with Richie dubbing him "Static". Virgil goes out on the town as Static, stopping a simple bank robbery.
